New to me in my 2013 is the exhaust brake feature. Got to test it out and I'm impressed. My previous Duramax had only the Allison tranny brake, which was great but going down hill it wouldn't hold the speed I set with my 5er in tow. My 2013 now holds whatever speed I set while decending a 5 mile long 6% grade and no braking by me is required.

Wouldn't have a diesel RV or tow vehicle without one.

You'll be really impressed when you discover that it works just as well on a 10% grade.

Actually your previous Dmax/A had the VVT (variable vane technology) turbo. It was a mild program. Banks Speed Brake and KillerBee can reprogram the VVT for more aggressive exhaust braking on the older Dmax/A.

Your new Dmax/A has the same VVT turbo technology but is much more aggressive turbo vane closing program which gives much more exhaust braking.
