Griffey has someting different than I do. Before learning how to keep my heavy foot out of it I got 10/12 towing and 15 solo. Now I usely get 13/14 towing and 16/18 solo. I am happy with that. It has lots of power and with the 4:10 rear I am not shifting ever ime I get in site of a hill (the way my other 01 with a 3:54 did).

My chev has intake exhaust programmers pump and injectors. My buddies 02 dodge eats mine alive. The six speed makes a big difference. He has exhaust intake injectors pump programmers stacked and a performance 1000 hp 2200 ft/lbs clutch. He cooked a 1100ft/lbs clutch. The big thing to remember with a diesel is it is simply an air pump. More air more fuel, and optimize the ratio, the better it gets. We have had no egt issues, and they are our daily drivers. It seemed that injectors made the big difference when dealing with fuel consumption.
