Mounting a electric brake controller

I just bought a 2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali and want to install a brake controller. The wiring is already there. I just want to know where others have mounted the controller?

mounting

My Ram came with one factory installed. its located almost at the bottom

of the dash to the right of the wheel. you shouldn't need to adjust

continuously, so its location isn't very critical.

I have an 09 Sierra, I mounted mine centered under the Steering wheel..on the flat area, parallel to the floor. It is plastic, easy to drill & attach. Don't over tighten

I had a 2002 Suburban and mounted my controller basically above my right knee. You may be able to see it in this photo if you look carefully.

Mounting brake controller

Thanks to all that replied. The hardest thing is drilling that first hole. Once that is done, there is no return.

Make sure that you can easily access the over ride button where ever you mount it. You never know when you will need to use that feature

I didn't want to put holes in my dash nor place it somewhere that was not handy to reach while driving. I went with the Tekonsha RF brake controller. Wireless. No mounting necessary in/on/under the dash. The controller plugs into the power point and sits in my lap or sometimes in the cupholder. I don't have to reach forward to the dash to use it -- it is right at the end of my hand!

Thumbs up Great Ideer!

I was not aware this was available. We just traded up to a 2106FSB, which we're pulling with a Cherokee Limited. I bought a Prodigy RF from Amazon; works great, and no more kneebanger. Thank you for sharing this!
