I've got a smokin' deal on a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller. 2002 F-150. I've got the wiring connected to the wiring harness provided from Ford and I am cool with that. My question is on where the docs are lacking. Mounting the actual controller in the cab.
#1 Do the 1/2" screws hold good enough in the dash or do I need to get behind it and use bolts & nuts? There is some metal framing behind the spot I like, but not flush behind it, there's a gap.
#2 I need to be able to reach the controller in case of a 'panic stop', and I think just below the power outlet/cigarette lighter looks good; I can reach it and the angle is within tolerance. Where do others have theirs so I only have 2 screw holes to deal with the wife about.
TIA
