Same question as in another thread, but a different truck. I've got a 2004 Doge Ram 2500 and need to mount a Prodigy brake controller. I don't see any good spots, except the "wallet holder" slot in the dash.

What have others done?

mine is right above my right leg. There is a 1'x14" or so flap/panel under the steering wheel that comes down to show the wiring under the steering column.

I have mine mounted to the far right side of that panel.

Seems to be out of the way enough and works properly.

Pop me a message if you want and I can take a picture for you.

Bryan

Troll 3193,

I'm new enough to this board I can't figure out how to send a private message, but I would appreciate a photo of how yours is mounted.

Kssteve,

It's like anything else, it's not hard after you learn how.

My main concern when locating a brake control is how easy is it to find/reach (not have to look for) in the rare case that you need to change the setting or use the manual control quick. Mine is located above my left knee on the dash panel.

I have a 2003 and mounted mine in the ash tray compartment. You must remove the ash tray and carrier that holds the ash tray in place. Be careful not to break any parts as you will want to put them back in before you trade. The controller mounting braket also gets mounted in this space. It's not a five minute job and does require that you own a thinking cap. It looks and works great and is right at your finger tips(no jamming your knee on the controller). I could snap a shot of it if you would like.
