Mud flaps 2016 Ram Dually
Info for anyone looking to install mud flaps on a 2016 Ram dually. I used the Gatorback GB758054 universal brackets with a 19" wide mud flap. The instructions that came with the brackets are useful to just basically see how the bracket goes together but that's about it.
First you need to remove the small portion of plastic wheel well to expose the pinch weld. Then hold the top bracket up where the pinch weld of the bed is located as far to the rear of the wheel well as possible. Measure from one of the screw holes in the top bracket (which will be up against the plastic wheel well) to a point on the exposed pinch weld.
Now remove the rest of the plastic wheel well. Measure from the mark you made on the pinch weld over to locate that screw hole (that had been up against the plastic wheel well before. Now you know where on the pinch weld to mount the top bracket. You can do that now. in addition to the three self tapping screws, you will also need to make accommodation for two existing screws. One holds the plastic wheel well and the other holds a stiffening rod.
You will need to cut a hole in the plastic wheel well for the upper bracket to protrude through and reinstall the plastic wheel well
When you attach the mud flap to the lower bracket ( if you use a 19" wide flap) you will want 3/4" of the lower bracket to overhang the mud flap on the inside. This is to say you want to cheat the mud flap away from the truck pinch rail by 3/4" to get the flap centered over the tire tread. When attaching the lower bracket to the upper bracket, you will want to use the two holes in the upper bracket that are furthest from the pinch rail.
After the lower bracket is attached to the upper bracket and the mud flap is hanging there, have someone hold the mud flap up against the wheel well trim while you measure the distance to the ground on the inside and outside of the flap to get it level. Once you have it in place where the measurements are the same, mark the wheel well trim at the top of the flap. Now you can hold the flap in place at that mark and screw the outer portion of the flap to the whip heel well trim to hold in place. Your flap should be centered over the tread and be level.

Sure glad I went with the OEM flaps. They were pretty easy to install.

You're forgiven. Duraflaps are the way to go and very easy install.

Empathetic for OP as I've fabbed and installed many HD flaps in my days.
I'm embarrassed I let the dealer install the Duraflaps.
Be well

They were a PITA but they look nice and work well. If I were to do it again, I'd get the 21".
I gave up trying to post pics after 4-5 attempts
