Howdy All,

I've been away a long time. We bought a TT, then decided we needed more space, so hope to trade for a nice 5er.

Step 1:
We bought a sweet used 06 F250, super crew, 6.0 PSD, 6.75' box.

Step 2:
I need advice on a hitch. I don't like the idea of getting out to slide the hitch before trying to park because I'm not perfect (afraid I'll forget). However, although I've not questioned I do sense some resistance from my dealer about any sort of automatic slider like the Pull Rite hitch. Input please?

Thanks,
Ralph

The only reasons I would know of for your dealer to be reluctant would be:

1. If you made the hitch part of the deal. The PullRite SuperGlide is significantly more costly than a standard 5th wheel hitch - thus, the dealer's profit would be impacted.

2. The PullRite SuperGlide requires the installation of a cam plate on the 5th wheel's pinbox. Perhaps the dealer is concerned that he does not have experienced/qualified personnel to handle the installation.

Otherwise, I would think the dealer would be thrilled with your selection of the PullRite SuperGlide. It's the foolproof solution to the 5th wheel/short bed potential interference problem.

Rusty

I'd agree with Rusty's two reasons why the dealer might be reluctant about this hitch, because it's certainly can't be due to quality. If we had a short bed truck, that's the only fifth wheel hitch I'd consider.

You might ask him/her *why* s/he's relucant. If it's for Rusty's Reason #2, I'd find a qualified hitch installer who was familiar with this particular hitch and have it installed there...I wouldn't want the dealer *experimenting* on installing something so important to your safety!

Thanks.

Talked to their hitch technican. He believes in them. Said he's still trying to educate the sales folks. He even gave me the installed prices.

Thanks again for your input.

The bonus with the PulRite is the head itself with it's gear rack wrap around jaw, can't beat it for fool-proof latching.
