New Dodge 1500 vs Ford F-150?
Getting ready yo buy a 30 foot travel trailer. Dry weight around 6 or 7k in weight. It seems ford has a lot of the cool tow goodies. The dodge seems yo ride great and has a great interior. Which one for towing? Have any of you gone thru this decision? What was your selection?
Thanks.
Steve

Ram 1500 have lowest payload that will really limit your choices.

Agreed. Ram half tons have lower ratings than others. I had a 2013 for about a year before selling it

I like my Ram a lot, and it tows great. But, like others said....payload is lower than some. My Ram has a payload of just over 1500 lbs, which is plenty for my needs at this time.

Had a '13 for a bit with below 1000lbs payload. Pulled like an ox, but the weight paranoia was too much. The F150s have the payload advantage.

Yeah, I opted for the Big Horn with 3.92 rear end because it had the higher payload.

A Dodge compared to the new F150?
Not even in the same league. Are you concerned with towing capability or the supposed ride quality? Ford is #1 for a reason.

If you're concerned about safety the F150 earned the highest rating and the Dodge the lowest.

Not to mention that Ram trucks were rated the lowest by Consumer Reports. Those black circles mean something.

The F150 has 85% domestic content. Higher then any other truck and scoring 2nd only against the Buick Enclave in all categories.

Oh sweet! A Ram bashing thread! Haven't seen one of those for a while! I might have to pull over in my ram with 3000lbs of payload and the more stable 5 link rear suspension setup to read this! If I still had my F150 I could just read it while I was waiting in the repair shop during my weekly visits.
FYI- any 150 or 1500 rides like a pillow. Driven both back to back and the F150 didn't feel any bit "more truck" than the Ram. Give it a rest. Both seem fine and either will perform a task based on personal preference. Last I checked (even way back when intellectually stunted and was a brand loyalist to the Blue Oval) Consumer Reports wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. At best they had a 10% accuracy rating. Those black circles mean squat.
OP asked if anyone had run this gauntlet and most replies were to the fact that the Ram has a lower payload- personal preference aside.

What 1500 Ram do you have that has 3000 lbs of payload? That's pretty impressive.
Funny, you don't mention anything about coldfusions post, but blame everyone else for Ram bashing? Dude, get a grip, I can back up all my posts. I don't see any facts in your post, except insults.
Sorry you got your feelings hurt!
