Older truck to pull a very large new toy hauler?

I have looked at the newer trucks but I keep finding myself preferring the older ones. I found a good deal on a...

2008 Dodge Ram 3500, 4x4, DRW, 6 Speed, Cummins, flatbed. I am told it has 4:10 gears but I haven't verified that yet.

Any thoughts on this truck pulling a Jayco Seismic 4112 with a GVWR of 20K lbs?

I doubt it has the carrying capacity to handle what may be close to a 4000 lb tongue weight....

Dry hitch weight is 3490 lbs
Unloaded trailer weight is 15180 lbs
Trailer GVWR is 20000 lbs (and we will probably come close once loaded)

I can't seem to find the specs for this truck??? I went to Dodge website and see a new 2016 in an ad that says "32000 lb GCVW" yet I can only find new 2016's rated way below that in the actual spec tables... I'm kind of lost here. I have a hard time believing that the newer trucks are rated that much more.

'07 Dodge

I have a '07 Dodge diesel auto two wheel drive dual rear wheels and it's rated around 13,800# range with a 3.73 diff. I don't think any '08 had the ability to pull 20000# but I could be wrong. It should not be difficult to find capacities for '08. Perhaps a RV dealer can point you in the right direction. Good luck. I should have read the entire post I see you have the info. Happy motoring.

Dodge 3500 DRW cab and chassis trucks this model has those large 9350 RAWR for carrying heavy loads Pin weight will not be a problem. Their good for around 5500-6000 lbs depending on actual scaled axle weights and how heavy the haulers bed is.
We routinely run the Dodge 3500 DRW trucks in commercial service at 30k-35k gross combined weights. Their good for around 325k-350k miles with a good maintenance schedule.

Dodge uses the G56 6 speed manual and the 6 speed Aisin auto in the cab and chassis trucks.

All '08 3500 DRW cab and chassis Dodge uses the 4.10 axles.

The clicky posted isn't for the cab and chassis models.

My '03 3 gen 2500 Dodge/Cummins 5.9 3.75 quad cab has a 13350 lb tow rating from Dodge.

The Trailer Life towing guides go back to 1999. Don't think it has information for your flatbed but posting a link for potential future readers that may need info.

GCWR

The truck weighs 6000#+. The trailer weighs 20,000#. So are you looking for legal weight limits or just opinions of can it haul it? I don't know of any Dodge of this year that has a combined weight rating of 26,000#+. Am I missing something? On a cautionary note be aware of legal consequences. Be safe.

2008 Ram 3500 DRW

GVWR 10,500 lbs.
Curb weight 7,801 lbs. = 2,699 max hitch weight
Front GAWR 4,750 lbs. (Front curb weight 4,575 lbs.) =175# additional weight on front axle
Rear GAWR 9,350 lbs. (Rear curb weight 3,226 lbs.)
Payload 2,700 lbs. (there's your problem. With 20% pin weight, your max trailer weight is only 13,500. Not nearly enough for a 20k 5er.)
Front axle capacity 5,200 lbs.
Rear axle capacity 9,350 lbs.
Front tire/wheel capacity 6,390 lbs.
Rear tire/wheel capacity 11,340 lbs.
Towing capacity 11,050 lbs. ( Stick shift lowers towing capacity to a max trailer weight of only 11,340)
GCWR 19,000 lbs. (minus 7801 curb weigh = 11,190 max trailer weight)

So no, that Ram cannot tow a 20k trailer. Maybe a 4500 Ram chassis cab, but not a 3500 DRW pickup.
