Is it legal or against any city law or policy? My 17 footer is in my drive way. Maybe 1/2 foot into sidewalk. I received a notice stating that it couldn't remain in the driveway, it didn't say anything about the length but a person spoke to my wife and said it couldn't be parked in my driveway.

This varies city by city, so the only one that can answer definitely is your city representative.

Probably a neighbor complained.
Encroaching into the sidewalk could be an issue, even if parking in your yard is OK.

It could also be against the rules of your HOA (Home owners association) if your neighborhood has one.

If their is a ordnance it usually ends at the front of the house (nothing permanent). And can lead to foundation for it to sit in the backyard. It only takes one complaint to get a notice. I would talk to your city engineer to find out what to do. Maybe the street?

You might take a little trip around the community and see if you can find anyone else with a trailer in the driveway.

In our township you can't park a boat in the driveway unless the whole hull is behind the back of the house. Ask me how I know.

We used to have deed restrictions to be enforced by the home owners so in effect an HOA. The restrictions were never enforced, they were never extended after the 20 yr expiration so now it's a free area. When we first bought in all RV's had to be behind the front line of the structure, which we still do. Every once in a while we see someone visiting and they park on the street and run a power cord out. But otherwise it's pretty much never a problem.

I don't have an option to park it inside the yard. I Don't stay at that address so I commute, moving it to the street would be difficult since I'm rarely there. The hitch crosses the drive way line by 1/2 foot. It's pressed against the garage door. I guess I'll have to find a lot

When I moved into a neighborhood with a HOA, I had to sign a receipt saying I would abide by their regulations and that I received a copy of the bylaws.

The regulations stated that cars couldn't be left on the street overnight, no boats were allowed within eyesight of the street and no visible recreational vehicles are allowed.

There were some RV's kept on corner lots underneath huge decks covered by lattice.

We had to store our RV in a lot a mile away. I will admit that when someone invests in a substantial home, they don't want to see RV's boats and a half dozen pickup trucks parking all over the front yard and street.

When we last moved, it was to a town with 2 acre lots minimum and where there's room for any RV's or boats.

I would suggest contacting your codes department for clarification.

My way of saying that is "Your millage may vary".. It is not possible for me or anyone else in this forum to answer without researching the laws, and any CCRs. HOA's and such that apply specifically to your address.

Those can vary between one house,,, and the next door neighbor.
