Looking to buy a new 1500 crew cab. So wanting to hear from you ram owners to see what you are pulling and how well the truck performs.
Thanks.

Pay close attention to the payload sticker on a 1500 ram. They are generally terribly low compared to ford and chevy. I had a loaded 2013 1500 Laramie crew cab and my payload was 1061lbs. I solved that by ordering a 3500 cummins but just be aware of the ram half ton payloads.

I pull a starcraft launch ultralight 26bhs 6000lbs loaded with a 2013 ram 1500 with 3.92 and payload of 1659. It pulls and handles the camper great.

Ram 1500 Owners - What r u pulling?
I have a 2016 Ram 1500 SLT 4x4 CC, 5.7, 8 speed, 3.21 rear, payload is 1300lbs. I tow a 2016 Jayco Jayflight SLX 264BHW loaded weight about 6000lbs with a tongue weight about 650-700lbs.
Truck pulls it awesome. Lots of power and the 3.21 rear with the 8 speed actually seems to tow better than my 2012 Ram with 6 speed and 3.55 rear.
And yes pay attention to the payload sticker on the specific truck you are looking at. My buddy has a 2014 pretty well same as my SLT except with the outdoorsman trim and ram boxes and his payload is 1100 lbs...

truck in sig has a 1643 payload
we just returned from 3 month, ~ 7,000 mile road trip through wa,ore, cal, ariz and nevada. encountered a few 10% grades and lots of 6% plus. we travelled with a full complement of 80 gallons of water, 90% of the time, so we were pushing the full 8500 gvwr of the trailer. tongue weight is ~1050-1100.
we went across truck scales a few times and were right at rgaw of 3900, with 3100 fgaw for a total of 7,000 on the truck which put us over gvwr of 6800 by 200 lbs. no biggie, imho. truck performed as expected, nicely.
as with any tv/trailer combo, you gotta know the limitations and drive within them.
be safe.

Thanks for all of your replies. I ended up not buying a Ram. Went for a GMC Sierra 1500 with 6.2 liter engine and 8 speed trans. It is being built.

My daughter and her husband have a very similar truck with 3.92:1 gearing, 8 speed trans, 5.7l and the auto levelling. That truck pulls really well. I used it to pick up their trailer for them. Excellent truck.

Why would we make negative comments?

Not sure why you felt you had to request no negative remarks. Is something wrong with your setup weight wise that others might comment on?
