Ram 2500 Big Horn 4x4 - how did I do on my purchase

OK,
I wasn't going in for a 2500 Big Horn but the price and options got me ... how do you think I did on the price?
$39,524 Price Excluding misc fees
$598 - admin.
$40,122 Subtotal
-1,600 - Trade in 2000 Dakota with 210,000 miles
38,522 - Final price excluding taxes/fees

So the number to focus on is the subtotal.
This 6.47L Big Horn 4x4 has everything except a bed liner. It is even prepped for a fifth wheel.

The disparity between cities, states, provinces, and dealerships can be big. I think you did fine. But as long as your happy then you don't need us to tell you

Nice sounding truck. Pics?

Sounds to me like you did great. Enjoy the truck. I had the 6.4 hemi in a mega cab for a couple of years and it's a hoss for a gas motor. It also does fairly well fuel wise also.

How you did on price depends entirely on what the invoice price of the truck was? Always deal off of invoice.

I got mine with the diesel and the luxury package which includes the 7" LCD instrument display, heated steering wheel and seats and a few extras. About $7k more than yours.

The invoice was $50,300.

Diesel is about $7K extra usually.

The fast lane truck has a video review of the ram 2500 with the 6.4 towing. You can find it on youtube if you are interested.

Only place they got you was on that $598 doc. fee. It's pretty excessive.

When I shop for any vehicle, first question is do they have a doc fee. It's just pure profit being disclosed.

My Ford dealer charges for no add on's, and there are some dealers around doing business heads up.

Just so you know there are people that think the Ram 2500 is a little truck.

Hook it to a 40' 5th wheel and it will look tiny.

I think you did very well. I paid just a couple grand less than that for mine new. Didn't have half of all those bells and whistles.

Correction- I thought you had the 6.7 CTD. But still a good deal!

My 2015 (bought 11/15) Big Horn Mega was about 5k more. But the sticker was about 4-5 k more than yours also. It has the air suspension, sun roof, Nav, adjustable petals, fold in mirrors, and all the junk you have. Great truck, you'll like it. That resonator is butt ugly though.

Oh, I forgot to mention, my price included a 999,999 mile 9,999 month warranty. Everything but paint and normal wear and tear items plus the first 30,000 miles I get free service, oil change etc. I think that is a $3,500 option. So man o man, I may of beat your deal!
What is funny to me is to see 10-15 K off sticker on trucks when I paid $6,300 for my first Dodge W150 Power Wagon back in 1974.
