Ram 4x4

Have a 2017 Ram CTD 2500 4x4 SB. Looking for those that have around the same year TV and towing a 5th wheel.

Did you have to make adjustments to keep everything level?

Presently have a TT and considering going back to a 5er. When I had a 5er I had a 2007 2500 2wd, which sat about 6" lower than the 2017 does.

YES .....if you go to a 5th wheel it will most likely tow NOSE HIGH
Unless you can make enough adjustments with hitch/pin box (lower hitch/raise pin box) W/O loosing bed rail clearance (minimum 6") or have pin box make contact with truck bed when turning

IF that still results in NOSE HIGH towing then you will need to RAISE the 5vr
Axle Flip.......move springs from UNDER the axle to ABOVE the axles IF not already above axles. New spring perches/U bolts

Make adjustments with spring locations IF shackles have adjustment holes (change in mounting hole will gain 2 1/2"-3")

No shackle holes for adjustments then the LCI Correct Track KIT will gain 2"
It's an axle alignment kit (bolt on or weld on) and when installed it will raise trailer 2" in height

Still need more........
THen it's 'sub-frame' install. Cut shackles off.....weld steel tubing 2" X ???? (3". 4" etc) on bottom of trailer frame then weld shackles back on
Good idea to add lateral tubing for cross bracing at the shackles

I have a 2007 Dodge 3500 SRW 2 wheel drive
The 2007 5th wheel needed to be raised to tow level.
Easy peasy.......relocated springs to lowest adjustment hole in shackle and gained the needed height for level towing
Brochure height was listed as 12'10"

Actual measured height after shackle hole adjustment was 13'4" (6" change)

Depends on your fifth wheel. If you haven't lifted your truck or put on oversize tires, your bedrail and tailgate will be around 59". Allowing 2 inches for squat, you will need a trailer with 63" high front overhang when level to allow 6" of bedrail clearance. They are out there. However, you won't see this dimension on a spec sheet. Take a tape measure when looking.

My trailer with 57" of overhang would never fit your truck and tow level.

Yes...I am at 59" at the tailgate/bedrail and 58" at center of the rear wheels/axle.

My neighbor at our campsite in Washington has a new Freightliner MDT that he uses for his Teton 5th wheel. He says it’s much better than the Duramax he had. Pretty impressive TV. No height issues.
