Are you still pleased with your find???
Anything that you would correct?

I am now in the search mode
Need to upgrade from a MegaRAM 2500 SB; payload on that is only 1460 and my 5er hitch weight is 2640. Very overloaded; I did add AirBags as a temporary gap measure.

Yes, I am finding many 3500s that do not meet the mark also.

In the time and effort it takes one to search all across the USA for the right optioned truck in the right color, better off just ordering it and not to have to compromise on anything. Most dealers don't have one clue as to what an RV'er needs in a solid tow vehicle. Now, if one is looking for a pretty grocery getter for the little woman, then they can fix you right up.

Yes it can be difficult finding what you want in the used market.

I searched for a 2011+ Powerstroke 4 door long bed dually. I had many to choose from but the colors were not to my liking. In the second week I found my black/tan 2011 Super Duty. It was not cheap but it was detailed beautifully and only 85K miles. I bought it on-the-spot. Pulls my 21,000lb toyhauler. Yes, I had a hitch installed and the bed sprayed. Had it 2 years. Heck of a machine. Pulled I-70 Denver to Grand Junction and only broke a mild sweat.

There's nothing like a diesel.

Another thing that was maddening during my search of both new and used, is that RAM had some incredible discounts available in certain regional markets. I'm talking $4,000-$5,000 on top of all other discounts, rebates, friends & family discount, etc.! These are the low, low prices you see advertised by dealers on AutoTrader. The problem? You have to be a resident of whatever state the discount is offered in to qualify

Very pleased...nothing we would change..we traded 2015 ram 3500 megacab. We were over gawr by 200 lbs...bed was too small, but cabin was HUGE. The longhorns interior is pure extacy...cd player in longhorns missing and so is the dark black defrost glass. One thing I might change is the longhorns 2 220 alternators...i don't know why, but truck has 2 of them
Dealership we bought from has new rams for 17 k off msrp!

It seems to me that the sacrifice of the MegaCab for an 8' bed is a no brainer. That is one of the chief criteria in my search. We love the mega cab for our passengers' comfort, but that need is rare. The long box has it's advantages year round. IMHO.

Apparently nobody listens to CDs any more, according to Dodge anyway.
Most of the cars/trucks they sell now don't even have a CD player as an option. Guess we all just listen to ipods these days.

We have been looking a the prospect of replacing our class A with a 5'er. One the things we will need is a truck. We were looking at the Rams and I really like the auto level rear suspension. For one thing the rear sits soooo much lower.
I was wondering if that suspension will have any effect on the payload. It's so hard to find one on the lot so that I can look at the tag.

I've been on Chevy dealers lots several times looking for work trucks and there were no long beds at all. Unbelievable!
I still listen to CDs but I'd never get a CD player in a new truck. I would get the base stereo and remove it so I could install something aftermarket that sounds good. I can't stand factory stereos. Even the "premium" sound systems sound like crap compared to a low end aftermarket system.

No, they do have a single CD player option. At least on the 15s. I put music on my phone and play it thru the right Rams stereo.
