In general maybe but not true in the Nissan. Check out the specs, 3.36 is the tow package gear and it's because of the 3.83 first gear. Bottom line is how many times the crank shaft rotates vs the axle.

Yes it all depends on the trans. There are some OTR truck that have exactly that ratio and they usually have 10 or 13 spd transmissions as well.

Do the Nissans actually have a live axle up front? I wouldn't think so (anymore) in which case this gear swap is not like pulling the cover off the "pumpkin" and swapping gears. I imagine you have some form of front transaxle, which would involve a major amount of labor to extract and split the tranny to even get at the gears.
I just don't see that being a real option, if you can even get a different gear.

I Don't think the Nissian pickup has the diff in the oil pan like the GM trailblazer.
And I think that the GM "diff in the pan" is used on anything else currently.
Actually gear swaps on some of the IFS front ends are simpler than on a live axle. The 88-?? GM full size pickups & all 4x4 S-10s are ones where IFS gear swaps are easy. so are the late model Toyota FJ.

The simplest solid front axle gear swap has to be a TJ,or later XJ Jeep. (10 bolts on each side then the usual cover & carrier capbolts )
