Has anyone put a full air ride suspension in their tv ? or what is the best way to help with the sag and harsh ride when the tv gets heavy? I guess what i am asking is I have a 03 f350 cc lb srw tv and most of the time it tows and rides very well but when i load lots of fire wood and stuff in the bed the truck sags just a little bit more and the ride gets very harsh its not overloaded i have weighed it. I am asking all of you what is the best way to modify the rear suspension and what mods ride and handle the best.Thank you for your help.

Air bags with in cab controls and Bilstein 4600 shocks. You will like!

Can't beat the Bilstein shocks.

But I'm a bit confused... normally people say these HD truck ride harsh when empty and better when loaded. Wondering if you have some other issue. Worn bushings, etc.?

no the truck is just getting old. lol. all is well with the truck the springs are just showing thier age. I was thinking if i have to send it to spring shop anyway i might spend a little more and have a true air ride done.

I have true air ride on my 3500 DWR and the Bilstein 4600 shocks. I have the Airlift roadtamer setup(airlift no longer offers this). There is a company that offers the Roadtamer that is very similar to what I have, it is well worth the time and money. The only thing that I would do different, would be to put on a manual ride height adjustment(I have electronic) and a 3 to 5 gal storage tank, so I could use the air for other thigs rather than just for the air ride. If you want to know anything else, just ask.

Franka, Thank you.thats what i was looking for. I see all the time tv with air bags added to their leaf springs and all was thought that kind of set up was just a band aid fix.. If you can post some pic. I have found only one company so far that makes an air ride system and after a little more searching i will do an air ride set up.

I don't have any pics, but do a google search for roadtamer air ride system. Also Kelderman, and Firestone, make an airride system, not just the airbags addons. They seem to run between $2800 and $4200 although you could probably go higher and lower with some research. Hope that this helps you.

PS, airbagit has a 4 link kit for around $2100 plus options, that looks like what you are looking for.

Firestone's is called Air-rite http://riderite.com/ there system you have a choice to manually inflate with supplied air lines or place a compressor on your tt if you don't already have one.

Anyone looking at a new 3500 SRW or DRW really should consider the factory rear air auto adjust. Really a good ride solo and towing. Maintains the same ride height up to rear axle ratings. 9,580# on rear axle in pic.

Two leafs rear of axle and 4 leafs forward.

I just checked a local highly rated truck acc shop.. Firestone air bags and compressor installed on a new Dodge 2500 is $916 including tax here in AR..... Just for information sake..... factory,,, which sometimes is better,, is like $1600... ?

I installed airbags on my last van, and while they worked ok, I did not spring for the onboard air system, and it was sort of a pain in the neck to change the settings. On the present van, I installed a Loadmaster Active Suspension System Roadmaster Active Suspension Kits | Helper Springs | Overload Springs and it works like a charm.
