High hitching can come loose and lots of time damages some of the hitches. One needs to leave camper slightly low to hook up so that the camper is lifted as it rides up on hitch. This will prevent a high hitch. Every hitch manual I have read states this. I am a big fan of the Brinkley hitch heads. B&W copies this head.
