Your F250 numbers are still correct per the 2013 Ford specs. They also list the 4.30 axle with the 6.2 gas engine, 22000 CGWR and 5er tow rating 15100.

The OP posted: "Looking at an "equal" 150 and 250, same axle ratio, heavy duty towing, tire size, etc...."

So I didn't mention the 4.30 axle ratio available in the F-250 with 6.3L engine. The results wouldn't be very close to "equal" to the F-150 HD.

Of course, the F-150 with heavy duty payload package doesn't have the same size tires as the F-250, either. So you cannot put together an F-150 and F-250 with the same " same axle ratio, heavy duty towing, tire size, etc...." and get close to the same capability. The F-150 has to have the heavy duty payload pkg to get close to the payload of the F-250. But the heavy duty payload package requires the 17" tires on phunny wheels, and with Lariat trim the F-250 has 18" tires standard with 20" optional.

The same 6.2L engine is available in both the F-150 and F-250, but the F-150 with the 6.2L gas engine doesn't have even close to the payload of the F-250.

I agree with the tail wagging. I've pulled the Texas to Colorado summer run several times with the Hemi 1/2 ton. Last year pulled new heavier trailer with Cummins 3/4 ton and I no longer struggle up and down the mountain passes or against headwinds. I also don't have to top off the tank as often. Safe travels!
