I was getting 7.5 with my 2013 F350 6.2 Gas 3.73 gears a few weeks ago towing my Coachman TT 28BHS Manufacture specs it at 7775GVW I have not brought it to the scales yet and will next week to get the actual weight
I was driving on route 80 in PA through the mountains running between 55 up hill 70 down hills
Thinking about upgrading to a 5th wheel at 9400GVW I wonder how much more it will affect my mileage
Just weighed my truck today if anyone wants to know what a F350 Crew Cab short bed weighs Front 4460/Rear 3740 TGVW 8200

I figured running to Sandusky Ohio it cost me around 100.00 more for gas towing the trailer Diesel fuel was .50 more per gallon than regular out there
I will probably be going to put a 5 Star tune in it to try and get the mileage up a little

Have a bit of an update on our mileage.

This year we now have an F250 with 4WD, supercab, long box, 4.10 LSD and V10 engine and we are towing a 29' TT that is 6600 lbs. Has cruise control and tow/haul mode. A few days ago we drove about 300 miles in Washington on hilly and twisty roads with some gusty winds and also had to pull over numerous times to let faster traffic by. We have been down around 7mpg or a little better. This is the first time we've done a longer trip on non-freeway roads. On steady freeway driving, we seem to be getting around 10 mpg.

Last year we had a basic 2000 F150 regular cab with V6 engine and 3.55 ratio and towed a 20 TT weighing 5,000 lbs. No cruise control, just O/D on or off. Under similar driving conditions as this year on hilly, twisty and gusty roads, we got closer to 6 mpg and as low as 5.7. The little V6was just working way too hard and inefficiently most of the time.

I have been pleasantly surprised to find that a longer and heavier truck with much larger engine and a longer and heavier trailer actually gets better mileage.
