Tekonsha P3 mounting

I have a Tekonsha P3 brake controller that I have had mounted underneath the dash on the driver's side for 4 years. Recently, on my way home from Florida, I got into a really nasty fishtail thanks to a motor home passing me at about 90mph and thought I was going to lose my trailer and truck. I could not reach the manual knob to apply the trailer brakes because of the underside mount. So, I decided to remount the controller on top. However, because the controller only comes with an underside mount, so it is now mounted upside-down. Will this be a problem? At least I can easily get to the manual knob.

Yes it can.

Look at pages #3 & #4 of the Installation & Operators Manual.

However your Display will have all of the instructions upside down. If it were me I would install it in a better location where it is more easily accessible and right side up

On my 2005 GMC I mounted mine on the center dash. It was just lower than radio. Easy to access.

There is no need to mount upside down. Several in-expensive mounts are available.

You can take a small piece of thin metal and make one easy.

Tekonsha mount

After a lot of searching, I think I found a bracket that may work. I'll let you know when I receive it. As for reading the display upside-down, that is no big deal. Thanks all for your responses.
