Bought a truck today! Its imaculate and VERY well taken care of. He has every invoice for the truck since it was born. It has a 460 and a 5 speed, low miles, new tires, u-joints, carrier bearing, Banks power pack, and I took it on a LONG test run and it drives nice and tight.

I just purchased my tow vehicle - I got lucky and got the deal of the century - 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 quad cab, 4wd, dually with 6,871 miles for $38K. It depends on what you are going to be towing, but I wouldn't tow anything "substantial" without the 4wd and the dually.

I've been towing 5th wheels for 15 years with 2WD duallies and have never needed or missed 4WD. It all depends where you'll be traveling and when. If you need 4WD because of weather or off-road conditions, by all means get it, but it is NOT a necessity for towing 5th wheels. In fact, there are many advantages to not having 4WD in a tow vehicle.
