Has anyone used Titan trailer tires and what was your experience with them?

Specifically, the Titan radial ST 2.

I ran Titan tires on our 10K 5th wheel RV for 3 years. Last year I hit a fairly large pothole with one side, and one tire began to separate. I put on the spare, and came on home from Florida. When I took the Titan tire back to where I bought it, they said it was out of warranty (6years), and could not help me. That's when I learned tire manufacturer's have a 6 year warranty, FROM DATE OF MANUFACTURE!. It did not matter that they were already 3 years old when I bought them. Lesson learned - determine the date of manufacture prior to purchasing any tires in the future. The Titan tires wore well, rode well, and cost less than most other brands due to less initial tread depth.

Thanks for that info, I'll watch for it.

From the looks of it the Titans are about the only E rated 15" tire that doesn't have a bunch of bad press and the local tire store has 165 of them in stock. According to the Titan website there are a bunch of dealers scattered across the US. Course, the idea is put new ones on every 3 yrs and not need any the rest of the time.

Titan was a quality brand. They have since sold their small tire business to Carlisle and the Titan brand tires are now made in China.

In ST225/75-15-Load Range D, I prefer the Cooper (or Dean brand) Custom Trailer Plus. In 16", I'd choose any good Light Truck Load Range E highway rib-tread tire. In 14", I really like the Kumho 857.

I have been looking at the Titans and haven't read too much negative about them. I just called one distributor and he has to special order them. I am looking at the ST235/85-16 Load Range E for my 37' 5ver which has the original Goodyear Marathon ST235/85-16 Load Range Ds on the wheels. What kind of price am I looking at? The distributor gave me a price of $190.00 each. Is that reasonable?

I wanted to correct the tire size in my last post. The correct size for both the Titans and Goodyears is ST235/80R16.

I wanted to bring this thread back up in case there was any new infomation on the Titan tires. Seeing how there are so few E range tires for a 15 inch rim, i wonder if they are rebranded carlisles? Any more quality reports?

I'm glad you brought this thread back up, in fact, if anyone has anything good or bad to say about any brand of 225/75/15 D or E rated I would like to hear it. I had just about decided to go with the Cooper ST D rated tires since I'm under my tire load rating by 2750lbs and the E rated tires is overkill for the axle rating. Kind of think the quality of the tires might be more important here.

Nope, still weighing the alternatives but have to do something before July. I've also got to replace 4 more on another trailer but thats easy, just takes money since they are 16's with LT tires. Another reason why I'm leaning towards staying with the 15's if I can find a quality one for the WW.

My factory WW wheels do not even have a max psi rating stamped on them, has anyone been able to determine what these are rated at? This is off of a 2001 FT2200
