We have a 2005 E-350 with the v-10 and 4.10 RA. We tow a TT weigh around 8000#. We get 8.6 to 10.9 mpg towing and around 14-16 without the TT.

We like our van and TT.

Good luck.

Frank

This will be a huge difference over a 150 series and will make towing a much more enjoyable and safer experience. I still would go with a good sway and weight dist if you can, you will feel the difference in control on the highway, have fun.

As soon as I can put some miles on the van, I will post the economy of my powertrain.

I towed the trailer home with my Reese WD hitch and 750# bars. I may upgrade to the Reese Dual Cam. I believe that the upgrade consists of parts that bolt on to the bar ends, and the cams that bolt onto the trailer's tongue.

I busted a CV joint on my VW and drove the van to work--78.4 mile round trip. It was 3ºF this morning, so I warmed up the engine for about 10 minutes before driving. This afternoon's temperature was about 15ºF. The gas pump shut off at 4.6 gals, but I topped it off at 5.0 gals. I'm satisfied with 15.6 MPG today.
