towing 2 trailers at the same time ?

If I have a 31 foot 5th wheel and a 12 foot motorcycle trailer. Can I pull both at the same time legally?

Hi

I know you can tow 2 trailers if 1 is a 5th wheel
In Alberta but you can Not in British Columbia
So it's all going to depend with you want to do this,
Check with motor vehicle registries where you are.

Depends on the laws of each and every state you go through. Might be legal where you live but laws like that are not universal like drivers licenses.

I see your are in Texas.

I saw a guy in Texas pulling three trailers, they were carnival rides, behind his coach.

I was camped next to him and asked if he had ever been stopped and he said he never had a problem. But he was always in Texas.

If you have a iPhone. There is an app RV POCKET REFERENCE. It give you the laws on every state. On triple towing. Maximum lengths. Etc. .

As with anything, trust but verify first. Almost every so called "chart" for towing on the Internet is wrong in some instance.

asked, answered, and fought over many times
here's a few threads on it :
https://www.google.com/search?q=doub...earch=irv2.com

Gooberment people make up the rules, so research the lunacy as it changes often.

Thought about getting a toy hauler ? problem solved...

length is usually the limiting factor, but safety is the real concern...

will your 5th's frame handle it ?
will you know if your 2nd trailer has an issue ?
you will never be able to back up without a VERY special trailer...

many states do not allow it except for commercial... good luck and this thread will turn ugly quickly

A little over 4 years ago we had a 40' 5er and made a number of trips to FL and back with a MC trailer behind it. Don't know if it was legal or not. But never got stopped.

I've been towing a 20' tandem axle boat trailer behind my 27.5 Terry fifth wheel for 10 years with a series of dodge 3/4 ton diesels and no problems except always plan ahead and ck state allowable lengths for triples, generally about 73-75 feet
