Not with four wheels down if it has automagic tranny. The front axle must be off the ground, such as on a tow dolly, else you will destroy the automagic tranny.
For manual tranny, here's what your 2001 Corolla Owner's Guide says:
"
Manual transmission:
We recommend using a towing dolly
under the front wheels. If you do not
use a towing dolly, place the ignition
key in the “ACC” position and put the
transmission in neutral.
NOTICE
Do not tow with the key removed or
in the “LOCK” position when towing
from the rear without a towing dolly.
The steering lock mechanism is not
strong enough to hold the front
wheels straight. "
If you are going to use a stick-shift Corolla as a 4-wheels-down toad, the key will be "on" in the accessories position. Even with everything turned off, you'll still slowly drain the battery in the toad. So your towbar wiring harness should include a "hot" 12-volt wire that will maintain the charge in the toad battery while on the road. If your towbar doesn't do that, then I would also carry a small battery charger and charge the battery to full in each campground you stop at.
