Towing with a slider hitch

So my shortbed super duty likes to hit my camper. I recently got a sliding hitch that im ecstatic about using but, can I slide it back and drive through the campground? Thats when I hit is turning into tight areas. Or can I only have it slid back for backing into my spot? Thanks all!

The only slider hitch I have used is an automatic slider, for this very reason, but I believe you are fine driving around the campground slowly with it slide back. Just not at road speeds due to the weight being to far back.

Yes; you can slide the sliding hitch back when you are in a camp ground. I have done that with both of my SB trucks when I am towing my camper in a campground.

No problem having your slider back when driving thru the campground, I would engage it right after check in that way I would not take extra time blocking folks when pulling in to my site.
