I know this is an old thread but thought I would respond anyway. I currently tow a 2015 Open Range 216 with a Nissan Armada Platinum. The Open Range weighs 7800# (full water & empty holding) on the CAT scale loaded and ready to camp. I have a Honda 3000 mounted on a Stromberg-Carlson tongue rack and my tongue weight is right at 900# according to my Sherline tongue weight scale.

The Armada is rated to tow 9100# with a max tongue weight of 910#. I use an Eaz-Lift 48053 (1000# bars) hitch with 2 friction type sway devices. I've towed about 20K miles from FL to WY. We do most of our travelling on secondary roads whenever possible and I keep the speed down to around 60-65. I've had no issues with this combination. The trailer has not been back to the dealer in the 2 years we've owned it. It's just the wife and I and we carry (2) 26" folding bikes and a few tools in the back of the Armada.

About the only thing I would do different would be to go with the 1200# spring bars so I don't have to tilt the hitch head as much. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything.

You're only 10# under your max tongue weight. Where's you safety factor? Oh wait, you don't have anything left for safety. When I see you on the road I'll make sure to not get too close.
