Transfer Tank Installed 👍

Today I installed a 45 gallon transfer tank with a RDS install kit. I installed a hard line and shut off valve in the bed due to not wanting any possibility of the rubber fuel line getting damaged. The tank measurements are length 54" X height 19 1/2" X width 10 1/2". Just the right size for my 6.4 foot short bed and won't interfere with a future 5RV hitch. It also allows me to use my soft cover.

Install was pretty straight forward. Had to cut the factory fill line to install the RDS fitting with a check ball valve to prevent overflowing. It took 45 minutes to fill my stock 32 gallon tank from half to full. This will be nice when we travel since I plan not to fill up with the trailer connected.

No issues either with the 2016 Ram cap less fuel fill. I do however use a aftermarket magnetic plug.

Can you mount it on its side? I'd like one but have a tool box that has about a foot clearance underneath

Abnmarine, looking at similar tank and wondering how many gallons is that tank? Also for the other poster Transfer flow makes a tank that has room underneath.

My transfer tank is 45 gallons. The factory tank is 32 gallons and towing, I could manage 350 miles until I felt the need to fill up. I normally try not to drive more than six hours a day but found myself at times doing 7-8 hours depending on how I felt.

Not this model but I've seen some that will. I purchased this on Amazon. I wanted a tank not to exceed 11 inches in width so as not to interfere with a fifth wheel hitch.

RDS makes about every shape and size you can imagine. I'm sure they have one that fits your need.
