Truck needed Interstate move of my 5th Wheel
Looking to hire a Pickup Truck to move my 5th wheel from Phoenix, AZ to New York at the end of July. Depending upon price, all or most expenses will be paid. Can anyone offer guidance on whom I can turn to for assistance in moving my 5th wheel (30' Damon Challenger).

Somebody that delivers trailers for the factories should be able to help. You won't be able to rent a pickup and do it yourself.
Check Good Sams "Standby Sams". They move rigs in emergencies and there might be someone looking to earn a little bit of $$ on the list.
FMCA also has a list like that but they're only for motorhomes.

I don't know if any of the RV transporters would dispatch a private job, but it would make a nice backhaul for one of their drivers who has delivered a 5th wheel to the West Coast from Indiana. I understand they pay their drivers $1.00 to $1.50/mile (depending on the company), so they would charge you more than that.

I've been looking up the same thing to move my 5'er a 5-hour drive from central Alberta to southern Alberta. A towing service that moves RV's wants $135/hour from the time they leave their door to the time they get back to their door - $1350 total. I think I'll go with the private guy who wants $85 for the same deal - $850 total. Because I'm thinking of moving the 5th wheel only once or maybe twice a year, I'm thinking it'll be a lot cheaper to not buy the truck. At least, not until I need one.
