I have never seen a pick up for rent with the 5th wheel hitch from any commercial companies.

About 10 years ago when our 1st dually was totaled, I tried to rent a simlar PU. I was able to get a 4X4 but no hitch of any kind.

I have seen ads for fiver rentals, the truck comes with it. Apparently I can't rent the trailer only.

Maybe, if they have a medium-duty single-axle tractor without air brakes. Try Ryder and look at the single axle tractors.

No you do not need a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) unless you drive for profit. To my knowledge there is only one pickup truck rental with a fifth wheel hitch, dieselpickuprental.com and it is in Denver, CO.
