Happy Prospector,
Sorry I'm not picking up on what you're putting down...what are you saying?

I have an 08 with 170,000 miles on it. None of them gentle, many of them towing a heavy equipment trailer through mud and muck at wide open throttle trying not to get stuck. I change the fluid every 60,000 and haven't had a problem. My truck sees very hard service as a farm truck and I intend to haul a bigger trailer than yours with no worries, for a long distance. You should be fine.

I tow with an older tundra

I tow a travel trailer about same size with an 02 tundra with 136000 miles. No problems so far. And mine has the smaller engine!

Not a Tundra trashing post. Loved my Tundra (I've had 2)I towed a similar sided trailer with my 2008 Tundra long bed with the 5.7. Loved the truck, gave it to my son at 90k and he's chugging along

Frankly I think it was a bit undersized for this sized trailer. If we had not moved to a motor home I'd have been thinking of moving up to 250/2500 class truck. And I towed in Florida rarely hitting any hills of any size. Just my opinion. I assume you've got a decent break controller and WD hitch set up.

Great truck, never any tranny problems. I'm assuming it has the towing option (esp trans cooler)
