I'm with the crowd that lets the exit, slow roll and time checking in cool us down. Computer substantiates claim. Funny how it also serves to warm you up for entering highway. Whatever you do, please don't do it next to me at 6 am. :

Count me in with that crowd too. When I pull up to my house, I'm only moving about 15 mph. That means that my engine is not working,...which means that EGTs are way down too. I pretty much pull into my driveway and shut'em down. If we're driving down a street and then pulled into a parking lot to go into a store, then I'll let it cool down. To me, it all depends on how the engine was working prior to parking.

Not according to Cummins, but they only build most of their engines to go 1,000,000 miles.
