Tyron bands and flat tires?

There was mention here on another thread about a product called a Tyron band. It's some kind of a "band" that goes inside the rim before the tire is mounted and allows you some limited run-flat mileage on a blown tire to get somewhere to get it fixed. Seems to be a UK product. Anyone know about it and would it really work here? Not sure if it's gimmicky or really does work?

Yeah, Tyron bands are products of the UK, but they have a US distributor too.

The Tyron Band is definitely not a run flat device. It's sole purpose is to keep the tire on the wheel after a blow out at highway speed. This allows a little more control and a little less damage to the coach.
