I like the Ford in looks and interior. I am sure like many diesel owners I would love that perfect truck with an allision transmission, Cummins engine and a ford body. Also there are very few Chevy and dodge trucks in my price range in my area up to 150 miles out.

I am not set on a trailer yet as my wife and I are still looking for one that will fit us and our three sons under the age of 10 the best. We are open to a srw or a drw. The truck will used likely as my daily driver so a srw would be better but both will work.

What do you need an Allison tranny for? That torqshift 5 (5r110W)transmission is about as bullet proof as you can get. I would rather have a torqshift than an Allison any day.

Another question I have and I know this will sound like a total newbie question but I am right on the fact that a crew cab is the better choice vs an extended cab with having kids?

I don't have kids but I would certainly think so. Unless you don't want them to have access to a door that can open on the inside with front doors closed. Extra room is always nicer. But that is just my opinion.

The original I agree with wingnut.
As to the last, I do not have kids but the dog loves the extra space and my mother commented how much space was back there when we picked them up from the airport. I did go from PA to Kings Dominion with my sister and her two (10 year old nephew and 12 going on 21 year old niece), everyone had enough room........ and when I was the only one awake the noise level ............
