Van Dually Tow Vehicle

I have an old 1998 Tioga 24d that the home has rotted off of. So my plan is to part the motorhome out and use the funds to build a tow vehicle out of the cutaway chassis. I have found a company that sells cab backs that will convert my chassis cab into a dually. It would look like one of the old Centurian TVs. I know the chassis is in good shape with low miles and a v10. So I would be able to tow just about what ever TT I wanted.

wish they made them still

I remember these being pretty common when I was a kid 20-30 years ago. These would be perfect for what I do and a lot of other people. It kills me that in most industries today they quite making the products that make the most sense.

If they would make these van duallies again a person could have the best of both worlds between a 5ver/tt and a MH. Captains chairs up front and two rows of seats or a couch that converts in to a bed a little fridge and maybe a portapotty.

The payload on most new dually trucks would support this and still be able to pull a 30-35ft trailer...but that would just make too much sense

Why settle for a 16-year-old chassis? I don't mind a used chassis, but at 16 years old that one has earned its retirement. You can order a new 2015 E-450 dually cutaway chassis with the V10 engine, then do the same conversion to cab and bed you intended to do on the old chassis. Then when you got done, you'd have a 2015 tow vehicle instead of a 1998.

I would love to do that one day but my 1998 is paid for will cost about $3000.00 to convert it. So maybe one day if this project works out I will do the same again but on a new chassis.
