I tow with a 2000 Ford 7.3 Diesel Excursion, which is not on your list, so I did not vote.

Thanks for the reply.... as I have passed across the many posts from the members of this forum I've noticed a large variety of Vehicles... so I thought I'd post just to answer my own Curiosities... Plus I thought others may be curious also. I think I needed about 5 more slots to fill in a few extra catagories...ie suv gas/diesel...van import...

Most people that are doing serious towing will use a diesel. For those that aren't really pulling much weight gas is just fine.

3/4 ton & 6.0L Gasoline because Turbo Diesel or 8.1L was NOT an option for 03, 04, 05 and who knows for 06. Maybe a duramax in the van for 06 but NO ALLISON yet - ????

Mike.

I voted, but there is one big addition that I added to my 00 F250 7.3l that I'm sold on- the Banks PowerPack System. Took my torque from approx 480 to 624- hills where I would tap out @ 50-55mph now are 65-70mph. Makes one heck of a difference!

I have an 03 Dodge Cummins. I never had a truck before this one so I have nothing to compare it to. All I know is that no matter how steep the hill is keeping up the speed in no problem.

I grew up listening to metal and it also covers my other passion---steelheading.4x4's are a necessary evil up here(approx 25mi NE of Syracuse). You're looking at 200-300+ in of snow per year. You might see 4 out of 100 trucks w/ 2WD up here.I pull a Jayco Jayflight 29BH.
