My quest for an education continues. I have decided on the 1 ton Dodge dually and have started looking for an '07 (cheaper than '08) mostly so I get the new 6 sp auto trans and the exhaust brake.
Since the Cameo (trailer of choice) 32SB2 has a standard pin box - question:
should I leave the pin box standard and get a motion control hitch? If so, which one?
Or, get a standard hitch and get a motion control pin box? If so, which one?
Again, thanks in advance for the great responses>

I will answer based on my mistakes. I had a lot of chucking in our rig. After the nice smooth ride of our motorhomes I was quite upset. So, I opted to go to the factory and have MORryde IS suspension installed. Took it out and tried it - - immmensely better - - but still some chucking. Came back to the factory and had them install their new rubber kingpin. Amazing difference. Then, I had kingpin framing failure (covered by Carriage even though out of warranty) and decided the best thing would have been buy an air hitch instead of the MORryde kingpin. So, after research, I decided on the Air Safe hitch. Wow, what a difference again.

So, my advice, get MORryde suspension on that Cameo and get an Air Safe Hitch. It is the best of both worlds. Air pins cushion the up and down shock but cannot move fore and aft also like the air hitch can. By the time you buy a good normal hitch and some pinbox, you can almost pay for the air hitch.

Our KZ Montego Bay came with the 5th Airborne pinbox. It has an airbag that dampens all movements. I have not tried any of the other types of pinboxes so I cannot comment on those.

We have had the same Reese 18k Signature Series hitch in the past two trucks and were amazed at the difference that the 5th Airborne made in towing ease. We love the Reese 18k SS because you cannot make a mistake in the hitchup.
