Which tires would you buy?
Looking for recommendations on which tires you would buy.
I bought a 2015 Ram 3500 DRW 4WD 6.7L to pull our new 5th Wheel...a Keystone Hideout that is around 9,000 pounds empty. Tires will need to be replaced before we go full time in November.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I won't go into all the choices available to you ultimately you will decide what works best and price range varies wildly. I will tell you I run Firestone transforce tires. They are an LT tire. I have had good luck with them and just replaced them with a new set. Still looked brand new after 4 years use. Good luck on your search my friend. Many others will chime in for sure.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
You might want to check out the tire discount program through FMCA! I bought Michelin tires from them and I think they have added Continental since then. Keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I would buy Michelin LTX MS2 in stock size LT235/80R17.

Any other size will mess up the accuracy of your speedometer, odometer and trip meter.
That exact tire is no longer on the Michelinman website. Instead, if you don't find them in stock at a dealer such as TireRack.com, then you'll have to go to the AT 2 (more aggressive all-terrain) tread.

You are asking about tires for the 5th wheel right? Also what size will help others.

Even though the fiver is new, if the OEM tires are the typical low quality China Bombs, the OP might want to consider replacing them too! I'm swapping out the "Trailer Kings" that came on my 17 Carbon with Sailuns.

Thanks!
Thanks for all the replies! Very helpful!
Yes, I'm considering replacing the new Load Range D "China Bombs" on the 5er as well before hitting the road full time.
I'll continue to research since I've got a little time, but all the suggestions are much appreciated!

I always make sure, they are black and round. I made the best experience with that combo.
What I learned in over 30 years in the business: If you're not a professional race car driver, I can pull you everything on the rims and you would not know the difference- except the one tire might be more noisy than the other.
All the tire talk is just hey- I've got tires- I'm an expert. But the truth is- they went to the tire store, the tire guy looked in the back which tires need to go and told the customer: those are the best tires you can get. been there, done it and never had a complaint.
pull a good midsize priced tire up which fits to the weight you want to carry. that's it. And make sure, they're not made in china.
you can't go wrong.

Tires were still fresh, within 4 months. Not many miles on them yet, but they ride much better than the cruddy Nexans that came with the truck.
The AT 2 was too loud on pavement for my tastes.

I have been thru two sets of OEM Firestone tires and one set of Togo Open Country A/T tires. My new Michelin LTD AT2/tires are in a class of their own in wearability and ride.

x2, quiet good ride & wet traction.
Trailer- Sailun, or GY-G114 depending on size and budget.

I had two Trailer King blowouts in one day with about $3500 in damage. Went with the Michelin XPS Rib 235/80R16.
Also y'all who have had blowouts with these cheap China tires need to contact NHTSA National Highway Traffic Safety Admin. Only way to get these tires removed from market. Remember the most important safety item on your rig is the tires. I will be making a complaint once I have insurance issues completed.
