Wow, crazy long trailers.

I am seeing more and more 3 slide trailers that look like a nice 5th wheel inside. I was looking at a Jayco 322RLOK. Crazy long 38' 5" just to look. Very nice inside with a few really nice options like a sani-con system. This is a travel trailer!!!

I just looked at new trucks so I know that a 3" hitch is on a new F-350. But wholly cow, I am not sure a F-350 SRW could handle this trailer.

Anyone else see these crazy long travel trailers?

Friend had a 36' TT and a long box , quad cab, 4X4, PU. Found it was just about impossible to park in a back in site , unless the RV parks roads were 45'+ wide , ; which most parks aren't ; and the combo was too long for most pull through sites; he didn't keep it for long.

I have a friend with a 40 TT toy hauler. It might actually be a 42.

He pulls it with a GMC Kodiak or Top kick crew cab and a custom flat bed.

I pulling a 37' fifth wheel trailer from Cedar Creek with no issues other than I do not camp in state parks. Sites to small and most state parks do not have full hook-ups or 50 AMP sites. Most of the time I do not even know the trailer is behind me except I can't use the rear view mirror.

I myself will never pull a travel trailer do to swaying that occurs on these trailers. I see it all of the time as they past me by in the left land. Driver has two hands on the wheel in a death grip as they go flying down the road.

If they make it, someone will buy it even if it's not practical at all...
I have friends with a 40' FW. And a 19' TT. Guess which on gets pulled the most?

The Ford F-150 advertises it can tow 11,300lbs. This 38'5" trailer will weigh about this much with 1,200lb tongue weight. Someone will ask, can I tow this and not understand your answer because you say stay under 7,000lbs.

It was however nice inside, just like a 5th wheel.

I am thinking I would want a dually truck to tow this trailer.

Ours is 38.5 long not counting the bike rack off the stern, 10K lbs and our RAM 2500 handles it like a dream. I just always make sure prior to reserving a site that getting in and out of the campground is not going to be an issue, and we've never had any problems other than backing into some tight sites in Florida hotspots where everyone is packed in like sardines. I figure if a MH with a toad can get in, so can I. If I was buying again I'd probably look at a 3500 SRW just for the additional payload and room to grow, but a 250/2500 diesel would pull that Jayco fine, and a 3500 duelly is unnecessary. Unless you just want one of course, then by all means!

I am same as him. Ram 2500 with Cummins. Keystone outback 325 bh. 38.5 ft long. No problems. Anderson wdh with Goodyear endurance tires I can set the cruise on 70 mph and big trucks do not even induce sway.

Our Mobile Suite says 44ft, but it is 46.6 overall. From front cap to back cap. 3 axle- Morryde IS suspension tows great, but we tow with a converted semi, so the truck really doesn't care what's behind it. We are limited to what parks we fit in. Google Earth and pre-planning are helpful on where we fit, but we haven't had many issues in 5 years fullltime.

Yep, 38' TT pulling with a 2500 CTD. Absolutely no issues, well within specs.

Same here 45ft Teton 5th wheel. Medium duty Topkick for truck. No issue getting in and out of campgrounds. State parks are out of course but dont stay in state parks anyway.

I consider anything over 30 ft "crazy long" as you are pretty much limited to private parks. Few State and Federal facilities can accommodate over 30 ft without issues. There are exceptions, but not a common thing.

Maybe in your area. But in Arkansas I can get my 38 ft tt in about 15 different state parks. I think I could get in more but have not tried. I am sure it is different in every state.
