My gal friend and I want to travel this Summer and are looking for a lightweight trailer/popup etc. that my Ford Ranger will pull. We definitely want our own sack to sleep in though.

Any ideas? Sure appreciate it

PS I'm in Oregon but we could travel a little distance to find one but most easy for us to find something in Oregon.

Do you know your specific towing capacity? Do you have a receiver or will you be pulling from the bumper? I found this tow capacity info and it shows quite a range for the Ranger. This pop-up weighs in at 1,344 lbs empty - you might be able to tow it. 1640LTD - Freedom Series

I know the Ranger can tow a full UHaul and the back end of the truck was full too. It was not that slow of a ride either from East Bay CA to Portland Oregon. I wouldn't want to do that often though. That was one trip.

Some versions of the Casita can be set up with twin beds.

You have to start with what the Ranger can pull. Like the Toyota Tacoma V-6 which can pull 6500 lbs. I really can't see that size truck pulling that much. But with that said....with a hybrid you get the most bang for the $$$ and two queen size beds.

having owned a Ranger, you need to provide more info about yours.
some have 4cyl. engines and some have different sizes of v-6 engines.
also, which cab and rear end ratio and does it have the factory tow package. all of this factors into your Ranger's towing capacity.

i just saw an R-pod with a rear bed and a front dinette that makes into a bed. great little trailer and somewhat aerodynamic, compared to regular trailers.

I appreciate all the info but right now it looks like we are going to get something larger, an A or C RV. Then tow the small truck. I'm not sure but I will post here again should I need to get more info on tow capacity etc.
