We purchased a 2006 jayco exp 17 port used. When we purchased it we told the dealer the wheel bearings had to be service because we are going across the country in 5 weeks. We also got new tires.
3000 miles and I felt the hubs when getting gas they were hot! We went to a camping world and got new bearings and brakes. We were lucky the bearings were blue. This is the first trailer we owned that had so much work. Has any jayco owners have this type of maintenance?

There's no telling how the previous owner took care of the bearings. Also no real evidence of whether the dealer did the inspection and service to the bearings when you purchased it. You're lucky you caught it before a bearing failed and broke an axle. I do my own bearing servicing, I am careful to be sure it's properly greased and tightened properly, not too tight or too loose. I also clean and inspect them before repacking with grease. A new bearing set is cheap compared to replacing the axle, chasing down the wheel and tire, etc.

Now that work was done it pulls much better and the new brakes do no grab! I couldn't get the Drake's to work properly. Now you don't know it is behind my. Also I will not pull over 62mph.Every time I get gas coffee and a snack I check the tire's and hubs.

So did you get it in writing that the selling dealer was going to replace the bearings? I do mine every other year. Tires I went with Maxxis brand. After our 14k mile trip to AK. this summer the tires look brand new.....The cheapo tires that came with the RV would have never made it.

It was part of the deal. We traded our pop up in weeks early. The pop up was sold before it was traded in. The gas was just filled and bearings replaced on the pop up. We told them we wanted our bearings service and propane filled.
We got nothing done! The brakes could not have passed inspection. We have purchased trailers from this dealer for years. Never again. They knew the trailer was going on a cross country trip. This was my fault for trusting them. We were lucky I felt the hub getting hot.
We have owned 5 wheel , trailer and pop up camper. We maintenance our trailer but this time I let a dealer do it!!!!!!
