Tom & Marie:
We have a 2008 Coachmen Captiva Ultra-Lite and just love it, very easy to tow and nicely equipped at a reasonable price. Be sure to check your towing capabilities and get the actual weight of the unit you are interested in, do not rely on the MFG estimated weight it is wrong does not include any optional items. Good luck in your searching, and Welcome to irv2, you've come to the right place to get answers.

We pull with a 4.7l V-8 Toyota 4-Runner. The Aerolite Cub hybrid's I feel have very light hitch weights. We do a lot of camping in the mountains / hills of ohio and western PA. I get about 12 to 12.4 MPG towing "IF" I keep the speed under 60. Over 60 it drops to the 10 or 11 range. The models with the slides offer a great deal of floor space. Aerolite did a good job in balancing out the floor plans so the hitch weights were with in SUV limits. On my 24' Aerolite I only us a anti-sway bar. I guess loaded I'm about 450 pounds on the hitch. We have camped about 200+ nights in her over the last 4 seasons. From the some of the problems other people have had on some brands I would say were 100% satisfied on how it has held up. 2005 model #236 Aerolite Cub hybrid Aerolite #236 model They do not make the 236 model anymore. I think 06' was the last year. Truthfully, I don't know why. That floor plan offers so much counter space + cabinets.....

A Jeep with a tow bar could be the answer if it is a 4WD.

We used to pull a Starcraft 1022 pop-up with our 99 Cherokee. It did fine. If you have an automatic transmission be sure and add a transmission cooler if not already equipped. The short wheelbase of the Cherokee is a limiting factor in pulling trailers as is the narrow width. You will need mirror extensions.
