Bunk End Upgrade?

I'm new to the forum and just got a hybrid Friday and was looking around to see if anyone has changed out the old style fold out ends with support bars for the new style with cables or if this is even possible.

I've got the old style and if it ain't broke..........

What are your reasons for wanting to change, if possible? What is the year and make of your hybrid?

Just curios if can be done the front bunk will need replacing soon its a little soft in the bottom corners and just wanted see if thats possible. Also would like to attach the canvas to the bunk frame in the kids bunk.

Where the cables attach to the wall would have to be reinforced. My bunk ends support 1200 lbs.
