I pull our toy hauler with an F-350 that seats 6. Wwe have 4 small children and we go camping all of the time. Is there any way to extend my crew cab with a shell or something (but not interferring with the goose neck hitch)in order to add extra room for those long trips?

Before I could offer a suggestion, I would ask whether or not you have a short box or long box. Next, I would ask, at full travel across the arc of the nose cap of the trailer, how much room is there for an extension?

I've seen cab extensions, similar to a topper, that mate up to the rear window for a small sleeper area. They go back from the cab about 2 feet. I did some research on the web but couldn't come up with anything specific. Leer, ARE and Gem Top are manufacturers that come to mind.

Good Luck!

Alton Truck Manufacturing does a six door crew cab conversion. I too have 4 kids, and as they are getting to be teens and growing, it does start to get cramped in our truck on long trips. I have also seen on the internet somewhere, but can not seem to find it now, a cap that extends about 2 feet behind the cab and goes down into the bed as well with a bebch seat to seat two additional passengers. I would think though, even with a long bed, you will not have the clerances for towing a 5th wheel, maybe a goosneck depending on how long the tongue is.
