Hi, we're new to camping and just bought an Orbit 260xp, waiting for it to be delivered. Anybody have any experience/advice with this unit they'd be willing to share? Thanks!

That's the camper we wanted to get. We just don't want that kind of debt right now. We settled for a used cub with 1 set of bunk beds. We hopefully can move up to the Orbit 260XP in a couple of years. We will be saving up for it.

I have no experience with it though and am new to hybrids as well. The guys here are awesome though and very knowledgeable. I am sure someone will be along soon to answer you.

I assume since you bought the 260XP you have a few kids. How many? Also, what do you pull it with?

Hi! I enjoyed reading your responses in this forum. We bought a used Toyota Sequoia, because we knew we wanted to be able to tow. We had gone camping in a tent with friends for Halloween and had such a good time, we started looking at pop-ups. I was pretty much over the tent before the second stake went into the ground.

After looking at a few pop-ups, my husband found the hybrids on line and they seem to be the answer to all of our needs.

We have 2 daughters, ages 14 and 6, and often travel with a friend for the elder daughter. So having 4 beds for the kids works great for us. Plus, they can use the extra bunks for their junk!

I know all about the extra "junk". "But Mom I HAVE to bring this." It is amazing what they need for just a long weekend, or even for a short one. LOL As my signature says, I have 6 kids, only 5 at home though. 3 of them are little and still don't mind sharing. We are keeping are eyes out for a hybrid with 2 sets of bunk beds at a great price though. Can't wait til that day comes.

We bought a popup just over a year ago. We did not even know about hyrids then. We could not tow a regular trailer. After being in the popup a year, we just needed something bigger. Found out about hybrids and now we have one. It is definitely great having one. No middle of the night trips to the bath house. I have an oven and a big fridge and lots of cabinet space. The fridge is giving us problems, but the trailer is 6-7 years old, so we kind of expected to be fixing things here and there. Other than that it is great. It sets up much faster than out popup and break down is easier too. No having to make sure everything is low enough to slide the beds in.

If you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask here. I have learned a lot about RVing and saved myself a whole lot of headaches.

What year Sequoia did you buy? We tow our Aerolite with the V-8 Toyota 4-Runner with no problem.

Hi! We bought a 2004 Sequoia V8. Everybody assures us it should work!

We have had three 4-Runners. Starting with a 1990 with a 150 HP. V-6 (No power, even with just tent camping supplies it would crawl up big hills), Then a 1999 with a 183 HP V-6 that we used to pull our 99' Coleman popup (Not bad,would get down to 25mph on the steepest mountain secondary roads of western PA.) Our 05' has 271 HP V-8. Those same hills that our 99' Toyota towing a pop-up would get down to 25MPH ,now pulling a twice as heavy Aerolite hybrid we bottom out at 35-40 range. This one state park we go to in SW PA. has a mother of a hill to get up and over. Its 6 miles of mostly uphill, with one section of about a mile at about a 10-12% grade.
