We've all heard the pro's & con's of the type of RV we use. And we all do research and read as much as we can before changing to a different type of RV.

I am curious as to why you purchased a hybrid vs. another type of RV. Which other type were you considering? Are you happy with your decision? Does the hybrid fill most of the needs you wanted it to?

Hi My wife and I bought our Trail Manor because it gave us the hauling and storage ease that we liked when we had our popup and it gave us a few more creture comforts along with quitabit more security than a popup.We have found that the Trail Manor is also much easyer and faster to set up

We owned a pop up and when we decided to move to something different, the hybrid was what we wanted. We weren't ready to give up the canvas just yet. Love the amenities and the ability to use it as a TT when the weather dictates. And we got a sweet deal too!

Don't regret our decision one bit.

We had a 99' Coleman popup that we were going to upgrade to a larger size. While at the dealer last fall we just happened to pop our heads into a Aerolite Cub hybrid. I knew sooner or later we would get into a travel trailer. I liked the construction and the light weight of the unit. We went to the RV show in Jan. this year to see all the other models and other brands. The Aerolite Cub's were a little more $$$ but they offered a lighter weight unit and lighter hitch weights.

We had only camped in a tent, and a few times in a borrowed pop-up and our TV isn't that capable of towing anything larger than a hybrid right now. We hope to some day upgrade the TV and then get a 5th wheel; but we think our 21 ft hybrid suits us just fine right now!
Leaving on a 10 day camping trip this Friday.
Can't wait............

We custom ordered our Toy Hauler and some may call it a hybred because of the side fold out tents. We have 6 kids and needed the space in the trailer for bodies & bikes, not beds!

We went from pup to 5'er. We discussed a hybrid, but I'm just tired of having to open the canvas back up and let it dry for a few days, plus, in bad weather, I've always been concearned about just how much the canvas could endure. Plus, the 5'er that we would have wanted to move to in the long run became available for us to get now.

We didn't even consider a fully enclosed travel trailer. We like sleeping under canvas. Many weekends the trailer is in Camp Driveway so I can sleep outdoors. Gotta see if I can get her into Camp Backyard.

Yes, you do have to dry out the bunk ends if they get wet. But if you wanna sleep outdoors...

Similar to some of the other posts, we have a growing family and two big dogs. We were tent campers before the boys came along, and needed more infrastructure out on the road. The camper is a godsend at bedtime, naptime, and mealtime. Especially if the weather isn't good. Also, for the amount of space we need, the tow vehicle (1/2 ton suburban) we already had, it wasn't too hard to figure out that only a hybrid would meet our needs.
We got a Coyote 23 CMS last fall, and have about 25 nights/2500 miles on it so far with no significant issues.

I just sold my 2003 pop-up and am getting a 2003 (like new) hybrid this week. I wanted to get away from cranking up and down, especially when you want to check food and camping supplies prior to leaving. I'm a little worried about not being able to see over the top when towing as I could do with the pop-up but hopefully I will overcome my fears. As for having the slide-out beds like a pop-up, this gives me more room for less length (when open).

Lightkeeper I would agree with you a 100% to your game plan. We did the same think earlier this year upgrading to a 24' hybrid. Its nice to have it in the driveway to reload it up with supplies before a trip. Fact, its in the driveway now getting ready for a 15 day trip to Northwestern PA starting Sat. When opened up we have a 32' trailer. One thing about towing the new trailer. Our old popup (99' Coleman) was 7 1/2' wide. The new 05' Cub hybrid went to 8' wide this year. I still have a habit of looking in the rearview mirror to check on the trailer and I see a big white wall. I had to get some outside mirror extenders for our Toyota. No one makes towing mirrors for Toyota's so I had to go to a universal style. We have camped 31 days so far this season and hope to finish up in Nov. with 60.
