Chip, This is a good question, maybe better posed in the "Toy Hauler Discussions" Forum. A Community Administrator can move it there for you. Just click on "Community" in the blue tool bar above and select "Meet our Staff". Select one of the CA and ask them to move it there.

To answer your question it depends on the pin weight of the toy hauler (TH) and the GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) of your 3500 Ram, SRW. My guess is that the vehicle has the needed HP to tow the TH, but if the pin weight of the TH is more than the GAWR of your rear axle then probably not. I know it sounds somewhat complex but it really isn't. Main consideration is safety for you and DW, the dogs, and all other motorists on the road with you.

There are a number of threads on this subject and if you do a search using the Google search of the irv2.com site from the tool bar above, I'm sure you will find a copious amount of reading that will assist you in your quest for information.

Is the 19,000 the trailer GVWR, or the infamous ( mostly inaccurate ) " dry weight"
JMHO: The loaded pin weight of this trailer will be pushing the payload, RAWR , of a SRW, truck . Particularly if your carrying a number of passengers and gear in the truck. You'll need to get out and weight the truck, with the normal amount of passengers and gear, full tank of fuel , front&rear to determine what weight capacities you have remaining to deal with , for truck RAWR, GVWR, and GCWR.

Are you serious? Very doubtful.

The trailer is 19K GVWR. Dry is 13K-14K, so empty hitch weight is about 3K.

Without more info on your truck, we're guessing. Rear axle weight empty is around 2700. Rear GAWR is 6500. Add 3K to 2700, and you only have 800lbs of capacity on the rear axle. Add people, gear, and all and that will be overloaded fast.
Payload on an empty truck is only 2700 lbs. That's already under your pin weight.

Ram only states a trailer of 16500, yours isn't there yet but will be.

If your truck already weighs 7300, and the trailer is 17000 loaded with all your stuff, you're over the 24000 GCWR of the truck.

We pulled our cyclone 4100 with a 2011 Ford f350 SWR and just traded for a dwr, you cannot fathom the difference, especially in windy conditions on interstate driving and competing with the semi traffic. It totally eliminates the white knuckle moments when being overtaken by a 80 mph semi.

You have a very powerful truck the GCWR should be 24000 lbs I wish I had your truck I have a 2500 with a GCWR of 18800 lbs I could pull up to about a 32 ft camper that weight about 11000 lbs.

You need to provide some more information on your truck such as auto and differential gearing in order to provide the correct information.

You can click on the 2005-2013 MY link, then the 2011 MY; than the Ram truck icon, pick your cab style than under the technical information heading you clink on BASE WEIGHT PAYLOAD And Towing you will than click on 3500, than WB and cab again to find out your GCWR, GAWR and GVWR along with max trailer towing weight. Hope this helps?

The power train will not be your limiting factor. It will be your rear axle. Even if you barely squeek by, you will have no margin for error. Throw in a generator, w/d, full tank of water, you could easily go over 4K on the pin weight. I also pulled my Cyclone 4100 with a SRW for about 3500 mi, knowing that I would soon be buying another truck. Towing on I-10 west through west Texas, NM, and AZ, made that decision sooner than later. As mentioned before, the difference was like night and day.
