5th wheel toy hauler

Hello I'm doing this for a friend and need your help. I have a 2008 excel and my friend is looking to buy. This is the deal he is in his late 50's and is a avid bird hunter dog trainer. his plan is to chase dogs and birds from canada to the mexican border is there a 5th wheel that would be better. he is going to buy used in the 60-100k range any insight would be great thanks love this sight

I don't know which RV would be right, but a toy hauler in that situation seems like a must. You could build a really nice kennel in the back of one of those and still have room for your gear. I wouldn't travel with my dogs back there, but once set up, it could be great.

Honestly, I’d look for a MH in that scenario (and I’m normally a big fan of towables!)— my parents traveled the country trialing stock dogs in a MH precisely because they could keep the dogs in a protected environment.

With that kind of money to spend, to be looking at used for a hundred grand would have to fall in the luxury class when new. You can get a heck of a lot of new toy hauler for that money, not that I would advocate that. I have a Heartland Road Warrior and have been impressed with the quality of my unit. I have a couple of friends that also have Heartland and think highly of them.

What truck does your friend have? A lot depends on that.
With his budget, and a good tow rig, he can avoid the cookie cutter toy haulers which have no quality control and jump into a high quality hauler.
