6V Battery Question - What is the Best

I'm waiting for my (2)130 watt solar panels to arrive so I can install them. I also am going to replace my factory batteries and purchase (4) 6v batteries. I'm planning on getting the Trojan T105's for about $90 bucks each.

Toolman recommended Interstate 6volt also. Can someone who has done their homework on batteries give me their advice. Is there any better options than the Trojan T105's?

I'm not quite sure who makes the Interstates, but I do know that the Trojan's have prolly the best reputation in the industry. Have had no problem with ours AFTER we got the IQ4!!!

And you may want to check around...although my GiantRV salesman got a deal on ours right after we bought the TH, I paid $75ea WITH Tax for ours.

Howie, US battery and trojan are the main players in the 6v golf cart battery. Interstate is a rebadged US battery. I spoke to the owner of powertron who is the main guy in my neck of the woods. They are both very good battries. I believe the US bat's were $65 and the trojans were $79. Both are supposed to be good for approx 4 yrs, longer with good maint. He said the only advantage is you "might" get a little longer life out of a trojan. I went with the US, got them last month so prices should be close. Hope this helps. BB

AS BB said, Interstate is a distribution company, their batteries are made by several companys to their specs. I have had VERY good luck with Interstate batteries in my trucks over the years.
Trojan also has the T125 (same physical size as the T105s) and the T145 which is taller; both have a higher amp rating, in case you use a lot of 12 volt power! Interstate also has comparable batteries, but the larger sizes of both brands are hard to find.
Some people report good luck with the golf cart batteries at Sams Club, I believe these are made by Exide. I don't really care for Exide, but that is what my two 6 volt batteries are, and they have been working good since January 1999

I took a look at the local Sams Club and the golf cart batteries there were Energizer 120 amp for $61.00. Hard to beat that price but only familure with dry cell Energizer batteries.

I did put (4) Trojan T105 batteries in the WW and for grins and giggles I'm going to Costco tommorrow and purchase a couple of their 6V batteries for the Lance camper. Hopefully in eight or so years I can get back to you all and let you know which lasted longer

If you look at my signature you will see I use Interstates. They have a RV specialist, Gale Kimbrough, who is very knowledgeable with RV 12 volt.

I've found dealers in many places and they are priceing the product reasonably.

You did not mention an inverter, this would make you more independent, w/o hook-up. A generator would be nice , but not necessary as long as you watch your usage of amp hours and have shut=down control in place.
