We have a 1800 mile round trip planned
Thats: 9 miles/gallon = 200 gallons
200 x $2.79 gallon = $558

Ouch! That is outrageous

Sis..... you wanna camp at Holister?

TTT: That's it in a nutshell...they'll drop it back down to about $2.25 and we'll think we're in Hog Heaven.

the only reason i'm reading this depressing thread is because Big Buford mentioned free steak at Eric's house at the BBQ in his first post. ....
Now, paying $2.85 for my diesel is one thing, getting great mileage on my streetbikes helps round that out, ...
... but where did this thread go wrong and WHY has it stayed on track about the "price of diesel"? Someone started talkin' BBQing meat long time ago ....
... you can eat burgers at a BBQ while still holding a beer in the other hand,... now lets see you do that with a big steak...my vote goes with burgers

\$2.85_gallon

I'm with you Mike. Can't say I don't enjoy my steak, but at a bbq my choice is a burger and a beer.

Mike, are you sending subliminal messages? Donna and I are meeting some friends at a local steak house for dinner and all I can think of is a hamburger and beer. I guess your wizardry works.

I filled the Fire Engine this afternoon at the local Chevron station, the city yard is closed on the weekends so we have to use the public pumps...

$3.19 a gallon!

Less refined than gasoline yet almost 30 cents more per gallon for diesel. Where does it end?

And did I mention that my Engine averages between 2 to 4 miles per gallon?

Tax dollars up in smoke baby!

Well I have to say, Diesel sucks!

Its really a shame we have to buy the shi##. My trip to NM took almost 200 gal and avg 2.34 a gal. Just put that in your computer and comput.

Bottom line, Lets figure out the cost for Moab an get it done. Its gonna cost so get ready and plan for it. I figure from here and back I'm looking at around 2k, round numbers. Rock on!!! And thats if the cost of fuel doesn't go up! Plan the trip.

OK folks,

I'm on the road right now moving my daughter from Missoula MT to Lincoln NE. I'm in Missoula right now, filled up 4 times coming up here, $2.99 in Palmdale, $2.89 in Misquete (sp) Nevada, $2.69 in northern Utah, $2.59 in Dillon MT. Cheapest I saw was $2.49 somewhere in MT. Now I still have to drive to Nebraska and then back to Mammoth and then home. Man I need to work some OT to pay for the fuel...

I'll let you know prices on the way.

BTW, 15 mpg in the new truck, cruise set at 75mph. Not bad!!!

Clark
